PostSubject: Moeru Bara (燃える 薔薇)   Moeru Bara (燃える 薔薇) EmptySun Aug 02, 2015 2:25 am

Basics
Full Name: Moeru Bara (燃える 薔薇).
Meaning of Name: Blazing Rose.
*Nickname: Bara (薔薇).
Sex: Male.
Job Class: Ghost Hunter and PK User.

Human Appearance
Age: 23.
Eye Color: Amber.
Hair Color: Red.
Type of Build/Body: Tall and muscular.
Height: 6'1".
Weight: 166 lbs.
Distinguishing Marks: His red hair is kept short, ruffled, and spiked, with two strands of hair near the opposite sides of his head falling over his face, as well as distinct sideburns.

Since the age of 16, there have been light creases under his eyes, which he still has.

He wears a black, leather jacket with a black fur collar all the time, warm or cold. He also wears a silver chain attached from his belt to the wallet in his back pocket.

He wears other jewelry pieces with his clothes, primarily silver: a silver ring on his right index finger, and a star-shaped necklace as well as three silver bracelets on his left wrist. He also has a piercing in his left ear, which once belonged to a friend who was murdered.

Traits
Attitude/Personality: Despite his otherwise violent disposition when angered, Bara is quite lazy and spends a lot of his time sleeping. Likewise, he is not affected from being woken up by a head slam, reacting calmly when such an incident occurs. In contrast to this casual nature of his, he has a rather dark sense of humor, once suggesting to name a horse "Basashi (horse meat)" and grew hungry once he looked at its shoulder, which is a known part of the horse to be commonly eaten.

He's also known to have bad manners. One friend notes that he has complained about being served food from her family, yet he ate it all anyway.

He possesses a genuine relationship with all of his family and friends and cares for their well-being. However, since his friend's murder, he has since been more quiet and distant towards them. Nonetheless, his genuine concern for them has not wavered and he remains close to his friends and family.

Skills
Special Abilities:
PK

  • Pyrokinesis- The ability to manipulate matter in it's plasma form. Not just fire.

  • Telekinesis- The ability to move objects with your mind. Often used interchangeably with the term psychokinesis, however psychokinesis is actually the umbrella term under which all the various "kinesises" resides.

    • Levitation- The ability to cause objects or ones own body to hover above the ground without the use of any type of lifting mechanism.

6th Sense PK

  • Aura Reading- The ability to see/feel the energy field that surrounds all living things.

  • Intuition- A "knowing" of hidden events, often used interchangeably with the term clairsentience.

Fighting Skills/Street Skills

  • Champloo- simply a fighting style that takes bits and pieces from all forms of martial arts and breaking (or break-dancing) while making up the rest on-the-go or 'On-the-fly'. The user must have some knowledge of all forms of martial arts to use this ability.

  • Taijutsu-  (体術?, literally "body technique" or "body skill") is a Japanese blanket term for any combat skill, technique or system of martial art using body movements that are described as an empty-hand combat skill or system. The term is commonly used when referring to a traditional Japanese martial art but has also been used in the naming of modern martial arts such as Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu. More specific names than Taijutsu are typically used when describing a martial art, such as Jujutsu (focusing on throwing, grappling, and striking), Judo (focusing on throwing and grappling), Aikido (focusing on throwing and joint locks) as well as Karate and Kenpo (focusing on striking).

  • Hand-to-hand Combat- (sometimes abbreviated as HTH or H2H) is a lethal or non-lethal physical confrontation between two or more persons at very short range (grappling distance) that does not involve the use of firearms or other distance weapons. While the phrase "hand-to-hand" appears to refer to unarmed combat, the term is generic and may include use of striking weapons used at grappling distance such as knives, sticks, batons, or improvised weapons such as entrenching tools. While the term hand-to-hand combat originally referred principally to engagements by military personnel on the battlefield, it can also refer to any personal physical engagement by two or more combatants, including police officers and civilians.

Combat within close quarters (to a range just beyond grappling distance) is commonly termed close combat or close-quarters combat. It may include lethal and non-lethal weapons and methods depending upon the restrictions imposed by civilian law, military rules of engagement, or ethical codes. Close combat using firearms or other distance weapons by military combatants at the tactical level is modernly referred to as close quarter battle. The U.S. Army uses the term combatives to describe various military fighting systems used in hand-to-hand combat training, systems which may incorporate eclectic techniques from several different martial arts and combat sports.

  • Street Fighting- Hand-to-hand combat in public places, between individuals or groups of people.

Unlike sport fighting, a street fight might involve weapons, multiple opponents or revenge and has no rules. The venue is usually a public place (e.g. a street) and the fight often results in a serious injury or even death.

The main difference between street fighting and a self-defense situation is that a street fight is avoidable, whereas a self-defense situation is not. The other main difference is that the fight is consensual between both parties. A typical situation might involve two men arguing in a bar, then one suggests stepping outside, where the fight commences. Thus, it is often possible to avoid the fight by backing off, while in self-defense, a person is actively trying to escape the situation, using force if necessary to ensure his or her own safety.

In some martial arts communities, street fighting and self-defense are often considered synonymous.

Background
History: Born to a normal Japanese family hailing from the Ryukyu Islands, Bara was the oldest of three siblings. His family life was pretty normal. He went to school and had plenty of friends. He was rather social in his younger years, but was known very well in his town for being a rather violent kid and having a horrible temper. He often came home with torn clothes and bloodied knuckles from fighting and his parents always scolded him. Even with his violent personality, Bara held good grades and a good attendance record at school. He only got into trouble with the school for fighting on school grounds.

What initially changed in Bara's life was the realization when he was around the age of 14 that he could instinctively know when something good or bad was going to happen and slowly learned that he could use this from time to time to determine people's next move- be it in a fight or just daily life. These powers developed even further when he started to grow into a teenager. By the time he was 16, he could freely use Aura Reading, Intuition, and Telekinesis. It wasn't until he turned 18 that he started showing signs of developing Pyrokinesis. It wasn't until he was 20 that Bara was able to freely use his Pyrokinesis.

Once he had graduated high school, Bara and his best friend moved out to Osaka and had gotten a job. Bara started college with his best friend, Hiro. The two had been best friends since Junior High and moved through Junior High, High school, and then on to college together. However, something horrible and unforeseen happened when Bara was 21 that completely changed his perception on life. He was a witness to Hiro's murder. His best friend, Hiro, had been shot at point blank range in the head while involved in a gang fight. Hiro had been a mistaken target by a local gang and had been shot as the mistaken person. Hiro's murder sent Bara spiraling into a deep depression. At one point, even the slightest loud sound startled him and made him panic. Eventually, that part of Bara's trauma passed. However, he's still withdrawn and takes a while to trust others.

Because of his painful memories in Osaka, Bara has since moved to Yokohama and is living a rather interesting life. He now works as a Ghost Hunter and offers his powers to police officers, other ghost hunters and exorcism groups in exchange for payment.
